The lodge’s aim is to excite guest’s senses through unique design elements such as the abalone shell wall, bohemian chandelier and hand laid stone fireplace, perfect to snuggle in front of a roaring open fire this Winter.

RIVER SAFARI
The Swan River Sanctuary is well known for our tour by boat down the Swan River. You will be guided by sanctuary owner, Mathew Routley, he has a depth of knowledge about the region and is passionate about guiding guests on an unforgettable adventure. The safari immerses guests in the wonders of the river while bird and nature watching along the shores.
Guests will also learn about the deep first nations mythology of the area.
THE FARM TOUR
The Swan River Sanctuary lies at the heart of “Riversdale Farm” – an 850 acre Regenerative Cattle Farm nestled amongst the stunning East Coast wine growing region of Tasmania.
Once a traditional sheep grazing property, harsh on the environment, the farm now seeks a new path, to grow high quality beef while working observing the natural sequences of the environment, working harmoniously with nature.

DESTINATION
The Swan River Sanctuary is located in the heart of Tasmania’s East Coast and just 30 minutes from Freycinet National Park. It neighbours a number of the best vineyards in the area. Cool climate pinot noir, syrah, pinot gris and sparkling chardonnays are the varieties the region is best known. Cellar doors including, Gala, Mayfield, Springvale, Milton and Devils Corner are close by, perfect for lunch or a tasting.
